The 6 Best Books on Wing Chun Kung Fu

My knowledge about Wing Chun (A type of Chinese martial art) was very poor until I watched Donnie Yen’s blockbuster movie called Ip Man released in 2008. Since then it has been one of my all time favorite Chinese martial arts movies. It has inspired me learning it online as a result I have watched some videos on YouTube. You may say the journey of learning wing chun has begun at that time.

Anyone can learn wing chun kung fun though one has to be a dedicated practitioner.

They were not enough for me though, so I had to search some of the best wing chun kung fu learning books. Surprisingly, I have found some and but ordered only one. Do you want to see my book that I ordered? It is called “Wing Chun Kung Fu: Traditional Chinese Kung Fu for Self-Defense and Health.” I will review it soon with other wing chun kung fu learning books.

I had to rely on these martial art training books because there was a financial instability as well as I could not manage time to fly to Hong Kong or China to get trained from a professional trainer/master. However, I was impressed finding out a way to get some ideas on basic wing chun training from the following books. In fact, these are the books I keep coming back to, re-reading and learning from.

This is the book I purchased to learn some Wing Chun kung fu techniques. Honestly, I did not waste my money rather I would say that it has been a valuable treasure in my bookshelf now. The book is absolutely great and interesting to read. It is very comprehensive as well. You don’t have to have a lot of strength to fight against someone. You won’t be even afraid of hand to hand combat with wrestlers when you are well trained. However, this book has taught me about benefit of meditation, understanding of wing chun skills, how to be confidence with inner strength and how to increase energy and vitality.

The author of this book – Ip Chun (the eldest son of legendary Grandmaster Ip Man) shows you the ultimate wing chun self defense techniques & instructions for both men and women, old and young. The book is illustrated with many photographs of every step-by-step instruction. To learn it fully you will have to fly to Hong Kong and find some wing chun school.
